Greek art in London has never had a bigger month. October is when the art world lands in the capital: Londonist counts Frieze London and Frieze Masters in Regent’s Park, PAD London in Berkeley Square, The Other Art Fair and a wave of new museum shows among the 70+ things to do this month. What the big listings miss is how Greek this October is. A Greek artist has won the Frieze London Artist Award, an Athens jewellery house shows at PAD, the Hellenic Centre opens two free exhibitions on the same day, and the British Museum runs a guided tour of its Greek vases. Here is the Greek art calendar for October, with a Greek table next to every stop.
Four stops, all central, a short walk or a few tube stops apart. Two are ticketed fairs, two are free. Dates below are confirmed from the organisers and from the Greek List events calendar, where each event has its own page with booking links.
From 14 to 18 October the white tents of Frieze London and Frieze Masters return to Regent’s Park. The Greek headline this year is Theo Triantafyllidis, the Athens based artist who has won the Frieze London Artist Award 2026. His new commission, Feral Metaverse (Spider), is a giant spider sculpture that visitors can climb, linked live to the artist’s multiplayer online game, so people in the tent and players online share the same work. The award is supported by Google Arts and Culture, with Forma as co-commissioner, and the piece was built with his team in Athens. It is the most visible moment for Greek art in London in years, and you will see it the moment you walk in.
Getting there: Regent’s Park or Baker Street. Frieze London runs 14 to 18 October, 11:00 to 18:00; a Frieze ticket is needed to see the work.
Greek stop nearby: Kima at 57 Paddington Street, W1U 4HZ, a ten minute walk south of the park, for fin to tail Greek seafood (closed Mondays, open 12:00 to 23:30 the rest of the week). Two doors down the same street, Opso at 10 Paddington Street serves modern Greek food all day, with brunch from 10:00 at weekends.
The design and decorative arts fair PAD London puts up its pavilion in Berkeley Square, Mayfair, from 13 to 18 October. Among the high jewellery exhibitors this year is the Athens house Nikos Koulis, one of the best known Greek names in fine jewellery internationally, recognised for bold, graphic designs. PAD is smaller and calmer than Frieze, with 20th century and contemporary design, decorative arts and jewellery under one roof, so it is the easier fair to do in an hour. Tuesday 13 October is the Collectors Preview; the fair is open to the public from Wednesday.

Greek stop nearby: Chill House Coffee at 10 Shepherd Street, W1J 7HY, five minutes from Berkeley Square through Shepherd Market, for a proper freddo espresso and Greek pastries before or after the fair.
The busiest address for Greek art in London this October is 16 to 18 Paddington Street in Marylebone. On Thursday 8 October the Hellenic Centre opens two exhibitions at once, both free. A Different Kind of Pop is the first significant UK exhibition of the Greek Pop artist Giorgos Ioannou (1926 to 2017), marking the centenary of his birth with work from the 1960s and 1970s, the years of the junta, when he mixed the bright flat language of Pop with personal memory and quiet political comment. It runs until 19 November. Fernweh, or Nostalgia for Unknown Lands brings 17 works by 15 international artists from the Irene Y. Panagopoulos Collection, including Chagall, Niki de Saint Phalle, Sean Scully, Martin Parr and the Greek artist Vlassis Caniaris, on Greece as a real and an imagined place. Until 7 November.
Around them, three talks: Sofia Mitsola in conversation with Professor Alyce Mahon on Thursday 1 October at 19:00 (£5, the London launch of the Thessaloniki born painter’s first monograph), a free breakfast talk on Ioannou with his son Dimitris on Thursday 15 October, and a free breakfast conversation with Irene Panagopoulos on Friday 16 October. On Friday 9 October at 18:00 the British Museum hosts Myth in Greek Art, a guided visit to the oldest Greek art in London, its collection of ancient vases, focused on 6th and 5th century painting and the stories behind the objects. Meet in Gallery 12 at 17:45. Arrive early and go to Room 18 first, where the Parthenon Marbles are displayed; the museum is free and open until 20:30 on Fridays.
