Date: Wednesday, 28 October and Wednesday, 25 November 2026
Venue: A Portuguese Love Affair, Hackney Road, London
Rebetiko Carnival hosts its Rebetiko Lounge Jam Sessions in the basement of A Portuguese Love Affair on Hackney Road, with two autumn dates.
These are relaxed, sociable evenings with no stage and no microphones: musicians simply gather around the tables and play rebetiko together. Bring an instrument of any kind, come to sing, or just sit back and listen. Players of every level, age and background are welcome.
Rebetiko Carnival is a charity that takes Greek music into hospitals, hospices and prisons, and the jam sessions are an easy way to meet the people behind it. Food and drinks are available from the café-bar.
Entry is free and the sessions start at 19:00.
