Naxatras, the independent psychedelic rock band from Thessaloniki, return to London with their fifth studio album, V.
The band formed in 2012, after John Vagenas and John Delias met while studying in the film department at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Their self-titled debut album was recorded in a single day in 2015 at Magnetic Fidelity, performed live and entirely on analogue equipment. It went on to become one of the best-selling releases in heavy psychedelia.
Their second album, II, followed in 2016, with III released in 2018. The group later released a live album recorded during a sold-out performance at Gagarin 205 in Athens.
Multi-instrumentalist Pantelis Kargas joined the band on keyboards and synthesisers for their fourth album, IV, released in 2022.
Naxatras have remained independent throughout their career, financing and releasing their records themselves. They have sold more than 20,000 vinyl records and CDs.
Their sound combines 1970s progressive rock, stoner rock, funk, jazz and Eastern musical influences, often developing into extended psychedelic jams. Their touring history includes performances across much of Europe as well as appearances at festivals such as Desertfest, Ozora and Dunajam, together with a tour of Australia.
Their fifth album, V, was released in 2025 and expands their established psychedelic sound with additional world music and electronic elements. The Dingwalls show marks the first London opportunity to hear the album live.
Naxatras last headlined London at The Underworld in September 2022.
For the 2026 Dingwalls concert, support comes from Karma Sheen, a younger psychedelic group whose music combines Hindustani melodic influences with psychedelic guitar.
