Greek folk revival band Gidiki perform their only London date as part of a six-city UK tour.
The group are part of the contemporary revival of traditional Greek music, drawing material from across the country rather than focusing on a single regional tradition. Their repertoire includes songs and influences from Crete, the Aegean, Epirus and Macedonia.
Their sound is built around traditional instruments including lute, violin, clarinet, percussion and gaida, the Greek bagpipes, while the arrangements move beyond conventional folk performance into a more contemporary and progressive style.
Gidiki have released three albums and gained wider recognition in Greece through tracks such as “Afousis” and “To Glenti,” which became viral successes during 2024 and 2025.
Rather than presenting Greek traditional music in a conventional taverna-style format, the band combine traditional melodies and instrumentation with progressive folk and atmospheric arrangements. This approach has helped them attract a younger audience in Greece.
Their 2026 UK tour covers six cities in seven nights. It begins in Manchester on 5 November and concludes in Edinburgh on 11 November. The London performance is the second night of the tour and the only date in the capital.
The concert takes place at Brixton Jamm, a long-established live music venue on Brixton Road.
The London performance is scheduled to run approximately from 19:30 to 21:30.
