Greek director Jacqueline Lentzou brings her new feature A Day in the Life of Jo: Chapter Phaedra to the BFI London Film Festival, with a screening at the ICA.
The film follows fifteen-year-old Jo over the course of a single day after she forms a bond with her classmate Phaedra. Lentzou treats the story as a dreamlike coming-of-age piece about friendship, loss and what stays with us after someone is gone.
It premiered in the Orizzonti section at Venice in 2026, where Lentzou was named Best Director. Evita Andriopoulou plays Jo, and the score is by saxophonist and composer Colin Stetson.
The film is in Greek with English subtitles and runs for about 87 minutes. It screens in the festival’s Dare strand, and the BFI advises that it contains scenes of graphic violence or injury.
