Whether down with the plebs or in the palaces of patricians, wine was as integral as olive oil to classical civilisation and there is no part of Greece or Italy that does not bear the mark of millennia of winemaking.
With a plethora of local grape varieties and strong local histories, there is no end to the rich diversity of these viticultural powerhouses. With Greek wine enjoying something of a renaissance and with forgotten areas of Italy like Calabria starting to show their quality there has never been a better time to join us for an odyssey of eight Olympian wines.
Shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. You will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, it is unable to cater for dietary requirements.
