A Greek psychotherapist in London is not always easy to find, especially one who offers sessions in both Greek and English. Your Space for Growth, founded by Elisavet Evangeloudi, is a Greek List member that does exactly that, and it is a good name to know as the clocks have gone back and the evenings are getting dark.

A note before we start: this article is general information about a Greek List member. It is not medical or psychological advice and it does not promise any result. If you are worried about your mental health, speak to your GP or an NHS service.
According to her website, Elisavet describes herself as a psychologist, integrative counsellor and psychodynamic psychotherapist who lives and works in London. She studied psychology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed an MSc in Health Psychology at the University of Edinburgh. Her site also lists diplomas in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in Greece, and a master degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy at Birkbeck, University of London.
Her website says she has worked in the UK in various organisations, including the NHS as a psychologist. It does not show a registration number with a professional body, so if that matters to you, ask her directly before booking. That is a sensible question for any therapist you are considering.
The Your Space for Growth listing on Greek List describes individual therapy, couples counselling and family counselling. Her website also mentions parent and family counselling and a three month programme of around 15 sessions that combines psychotherapy with life coaching. The approaches named are:
The topics listed on her website and on Greek List include anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, loss and life transitions. Individual sessions typically last 50 minutes, according to her FAQ. Fees are not published, so you contact her for prices.
For many people the hardest part of starting therapy is finding the words. Speaking about feelings in your first language can feel different from doing it in English, and this is the reason many Greeks in the UK look for a Greek speaking therapist. Elisavet offers sessions in both Greek and English. Her listing says sessions are available in person in London and online, and her website says online sessions use secure video and are available worldwide, which can suit you if you are a Greek in the UK with a busy week, or a family member living between London and Greece.
Good to know: the listing gives London as the location and does not show a street address. Ask her where in London in person sessions take place when you get in touch.
The NHS explains that seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, is a type of depression that usually happens in the winter. The symptoms it lists include low mood, a lack of interest in things you usually enjoy, difficulty concentrating, feeling irritable, and being more tired than usual. The NHS says to see a GP if you think you might have SAD. If you are 18 or over, you can also refer yourself directly to an NHS talking therapies service without a referral from a GP, as long as you are registered with a GP.
You can read the full NHS pages on seasonal affective disorder and on NHS talking therapies. Private therapy is one option among several, and the NHS route is free. Which one suits you depends on your situation, your budget and what you want from therapy.
If you ever have thoughts of harming yourself, do not wait for an appointment. Call 111, speak to your GP, or in an emergency call 999.
Both the Greek List listing and her website mention a free 30 minute introductory consultation. It is a chance to talk about what is on your mind and to see whether her way of working feels right, before you decide anything. You can book through the contact form on her website, by email or by phone, and the listing also has a request form on Greek List.
Every therapist is different, and it is fine to speak to more than one. On Greek List you can also read about a Greek speaking therapist in the UK, a Greek counsellor online and a Greek perinatal psychologist for new mums. All of them are Greek List members.
