Hi!

My name is Lefteris and I deliver online and in-person Maths tuitions for KS3 and GCSE students. I'm a qualified Maths teacher currently working for a secondary school at East London and I have 8 years of teaching experience in England and Greece. I'm a Maths enthusiast with solid academic background holding a B.Sc in Maths, a M.Sc in Statistics and a PGCE in secondary Maths. I would describe myself as an outgoing person who loves exercising, travelling, eating, watching series and movies, taking my dog for long walks and hanging out with friends.

When it comes to work ethics I always function with integrity, diligence and perseverance. I strive for continuous professional development with ultimate target the provision of high standard teaching. These work ethics I want to impart to my pupils and help them become well educated, independent and get better life chances. I try to instil into their minds that professional behaviour, critical ability and hard work always pay dividends.

As a teacher, I emphasize building a good rapport with my students and creating relationships rooted in mutual respect and trust. In my classes, every student has a voice and my lessons are differentiated and designed to engage students with different learning styles. As a lesson snapshot, after introducing the new topic I use scaffolds to provide a step by step guidance within the student's ZPD, and then with gradually harder tasks I try to stretch them and unlock their full potential. Towards the end of the lesson, a challenge question and a plenary activity take place aiming to secure learning and increase attainment.

However, learning something doesn't necessarily translate to recalling and applying it whenever asked, especially with Maths. Practicing the learned material plays a crucial role. Therefore, I consistently employ two very discussed and researched techniques to reinforce retainment and promote meaningful learning: Interleaved Learning and Repeated Retrieval.

I'm always curious in finding new strategies to adapt my lessons to my student's needs and I use a range of resources, online tools and software to accommodate AFL and make my lessons fun and engaging. Lastly, I have working experience with EAL students and students with learning difficulties.

• Hands-on experience with Google Suite apps (Google classroom, Google Forms, Jamboard, etc.), OpenBoard, Kahoot, Mentimeter and GeoGebra.

Ονομάζομαι Λευτέρης και παραδίδω ιδιαίτερα μαθήματα Mαθηματικών, διαδικτυακά ή αυτοπροσώπως, σε μαθητές επιπέδου KS3 και GCSE. Eίμαι διορισμένος καθηγητής (QTS) σε δημόσιο σχολείο δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης στο ανατολικό Λονδίνο και διαθέτω 8 χρόνια διδακτικής εμπειρίας σε Ελλάδα και Αγγλία. Έχω σπουδάσει Μαθηματικά και είμαι επίσης κάτοχος μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου Στατιστικής και μεταπτυχιακού διπλώματος στην Εκπαίδευση. Είμαι ανοιχτός άνθρωπος, με θετική σκέψη και μου αρέσει να ταξιδεύω, να τρώω, να γυμνάζομαι, να βλέπω ταινιές και να περνώ χρόνο με φίλους.

Σκοπός μου μέσω της διδασκαλίας είναι να βοηθώ μαθητές όλων των δυνατοτήτων να υλοποιούν τους στόχους τους παραδίδοντας προσεκτικά σχεδιασμένα μαθήματα που ανταποκρίνονται στις ανάγκες και στις μαθησιακές ιδιαιτερότητες του κάθε μαθητή. Με τη χρήση πληθώρας σημειώσεων, βοηθημάτων και διαδικτυακών εργαλείων καθώς επίσης με μία σειρά παιδαγωγικών στρατηγικών και τεχνικών γίνεται δυνατή η παράδοση ουσιωδών και διαδραστικών μαθημάτων που στόχος τους είναι να κινήσουν το ενδιαφέρον του μαθητή και να εγγυηθούν στο μέγιστο δυνατό βαθμό την κατανόηση του θέματος και την εξάσκηση αυτού μέσω εργασιών, προβλημάτων και επαναληπτικών ασκήσεων.

Σημαντικό ρόλο φυσικά στην εκμάθηση αποτελεί η σχέση που αναπτύσσεται μεταξύ διδάσκοντα και διδασκομένων και έτσι αρχική μου προτεραιότητα είναι η δημιουργία μιας σχέσης που βασίζεται στον αμοιβαίο σεβασμό και στην εμπιστοσύνη. Σε ένα τέτοιο υγιές και προβλεπόμενο περιβάλλον οι μαθητές νιώθουν ασφαλείς και άνετοι να εκφραστούν, να κάνουν λάθη, να ρωτήσουν, να μάθουν.
