Description

A tribute, in Greek, to Vassos Karagiorgis by the journalist and writer Costas Serezis, author of the book “Vassos Karagiorgis as I met him”.

Costas Serezis will present events that prove the international recognition of the Cypriot archaeologist, Vassos Karagiorgis, as a leading scientist in his field. He will also discuss how Karagiorgis, through the archaeological evidence he brought to light, managed to establish the impact of Cyprus on classical civilisation. An exhibition of photographs will provide visual material for the presentation; an excerpt from a film Cosats Serezis made in Venice in 1996, when Karagiorgis was honoured with the international award "I cavalli d'oro di San Marco" ("The Golden Horses of St. Mark") will also be screened.

Organised by the Hellenic Centre and  live-streamed via Zoom
